Pengelolaan Zakat Produktif dalam Pemberdayaan Ekonomi Mustahiq: Studi pada LAZ Sidogiri di Desa Genteng Wetan Banyuwangi

ABSTRAK Productive zakat is an instrument of community economic empowerment that is not merely oriented toward fulfilling consumptive needs but is also intended to foster the economic independence of mustahiq (zakat recipients). This study aims to analyze the role of the Sidogiri Zakat Management Institution (LAZ Sidogiri) in empowering the economy of mustahiq through its productive zakat program in Genteng Wetan Village, Banyuwangi Regency, and to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors affecting its implementation. This study employed a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The main informants whose statements were used in the analysis consisted of four individuals: the branch leader, a productive zakat distribution officer, and two beneficiaries. Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, which involves data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that productive zakat management is implemented through four stages: planning and fundraising, organizing, distribution and empowerment, as well as monitoring and evaluation. The capital assistance provided contributes to business development and improvements in the economic capacity of mustahiq. One beneficiary experienced an increase in daily sales revenue from approximately IDR 100,000 to IDR 250,000 after receiving the assistance. However, the outcomes of the empowerment program have not been evenly distributed, as they are influenced by beneficiaries’ business management capabilities, limited human resources, and the conditions of their respective businesses. This study emphasizes that the contribution of productive zakat to economic empowerment is determined not only by the amount of financial assistance provided but also by the integration of beneficiary selection, mentoring, and monitoring processes. Keywords: Productive Zakat; Economic Empowerment; Mustahiq; Zakat Management; LAZ Sidogiri.
