Teamwork Effectiveness and Its Value in Business Management: A Case Study of the Corporate Sector in Bangladesh
Teamwork plays a vital role in enhancing organizational performance and long-term business success. As Bangladesh's corporate sector continues to expand, understanding the factors that influence teamwork effectiveness has become increasingly important. This study examines the effects of psychological well-being (mental peace), skills, team objectives, team environment, strategy, performance and functions on teamwork effectiveness in the ready-made garments (RMG), information technology (IT) and banking sectors. A quantitative research design was employed and data were collected from employees across these three industries using a structured questionnaire. The findings reveal that all examined factors have a positive and significant influence on teamwork effectiveness with psychological well-being (mental peace) and skills emerging as the strongest predictors. Team objectives and a supportive team environment also make important contributions while strategy, performance and functions show comparatively weaker effects. The study highlights the importance of promoting employees' psychological well-being, continuous skill development, clear team objectives and a supportive work environment to strengthen teamwork effectiveness. These findings provide practical insights for managers and policymakers seeking to improve team performance and organizational effectiveness in Bangladesh’s corporate sector.
