Design a Model for Assessing the Impact of ChatGPT on Enhancing Teaching and Learning in Iraqi Education
Iraqi educational establishments continue to encounter ambiguity over the successful incorporation of artificial intelligence (AI) tools such as ChatGPT. Due to the insufficient research on the implications of GPT in Iraq, this study introduces a relevant model to explore the benefits and risks of using GPT for academic activities among university students. The model is made up of four levels, in addition to the components that have an increasing influence. The research used a mixed-methods strategy, using SmartPLS for data analysis due to the capability to handle various sample sizes, in conjunction with thematic analysis to identify and assess the pivotal topics included in the interview transcripts. This research demonstrates GPT's ability to promote self-improvement and provide customized, immediate responses. As a result, it might improve accessibility, foster uniqueness, and alleviate the instructional workload, thereby optimizing critical processes and tasks. The study also found that educational issues consist of a shortfall in contextual insight, compromising academic integrity, maintaining bias within educational institutions, normalizing cheating, and weakening sophisticated cognitive functions. In addition, via a collection of recommendations, this study enriches the existing literature on the effects of chatbots in educational settings, delivering crucial insights for educational organizations, policy strategists, researchers, and AI developers.
