SAKHI: An Age-Wise Health Awareness and Wellbeing Web Application
SAKHI: An Age-Wise Health Awareness and Wellbeing Web Application is a web-based initiative developed to promote health awareness, personal safety, hygiene, and overall wellbeing among individuals across different stages of life. The application is designed around six age groups: 3–5 years, 6–10 years, 11–16 years, 17–24 years, 25–40 years, and 40+ years. Each age group is provided with relevant learning modules and activities according to its specific awareness and wellbeing needs. The platform covers topics such as personal hygiene, physical health, menstrual health, emotional wellbeing, healthy relationships, digital safety, women's wellness, and healthy ageing. SAKHI provides an interactive learning environment through educational content, quizzes, games, activities, and other supportive features. It also incorporates multilingual accessibility in English, Hindi, and Marathi, along with an AI-assisted feature, Ask SAKHI, to support users in exploring health and wellbeing-related questions. This paper presents the motivation, objectives, methodology, system architecture, major application modules, development approach, and community engagement activities associated with the SAKHI project. It also discusses the potential of age-appropriate digital platforms in making health awareness information more accessible and engaging. The application is intended for educational and awareness purposes and does not replace professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. The paper also identifies current limitations and opportunities for future development and systematic evaluation.
