Os riscos da securitização da geoengenharia solar

This study examines the risks associated with the securitization of solar geoengineering, drawing on the securitization theory of the Copenhagen School and Just Securitization Theory (JST). Through an analytical review of the literature, it develops a typology of six risks: militarization, decisionist exceptionalism, escalation, moral hazard, permanent exception, and conflict risks. It argues that the termination effect renders Solar Radiation Management (SRM) an exceptional measure that cannot be reversed without significant risks, thereby making the just termination required by JST itself unattainable. The study concludes by affirming the primacy of polycentric governance and the regulation of the geoengineering.
