IMPLEMENTASI SISTEM AKUAKULTUR DAN HIDROPONIK TERPADU DALAM PEMANFAATAN POTENSI LOKAL DI DESA SUMPUT, DUSUN GUWO, KECAMATAN DRIYOREJO

Household food security in peri-urban communities encounters significant constraints due to the shrinkage of productive land and limited efficient water management. This community service initiative aimed to implement an integrated aquaponics system based on local potential in Guwo Hamlet, Sumput Village, Driyorejo District, Gresik Regency. The participatory program actively engaged 25 local residents through field surveys, the construction of a 2 × 1.5 m tarpaulin pond with 15 catfish, and the assembly of three PVC pipes providing 24 planting holes for water spinach. Initial findings indicated that the mechanical and water circulation components functioned effectively, achieving a 100% fish survival rate and healthy vegetative growth of 5–7 cm during the one-week monitoring phase. Identified challenges regarding community hesitation in independent seedling propagation were addressed through the provision of illustrated standard operating procedures and backup seedlings. This intervention successfully enhanced residents' initial operational literacy, although comprehensive evaluations of yield productivity and tangible food security require continuous monitoring throughout complete cultivation cycles. ABSTRAK Ketahanan pangan tingkat rumah tangga di kawasan peri-urban kerap menghadapi hambatan penyusutan lahan produktif dan keterbatasan pengelolaan air yang efisien. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan mengimplementasikan sistem akuaponik terpadu berbasis potensi lokal di Dusun Guwo, Desa Sumput, Kecamatan Driyorejo, Kabupaten Gresik. Program ini melibatkan 25 warga setempat secara partisipatif melalui tahapan survei lapangan, perancangan kolam terpal berukuran 2 × 1,5 meter bersama 15 ekor ikan lele, serta perakitan instalasi tiga batang pipa PVC dengan 24 lubang tanam kangkung. Hasil awal menunjukkan seluruh komponen mekanis dan sirkulasi air berjalan optimal, dengan tingkat kelulushidupan (survival rate) ikan mencapai 100% dan bibit tanaman bertambah tinggi 5–7 cm selama satu minggu masa pemantauan awal. Hambatan yang teridentifikasi berupa keraguan warga dalam teknik pembibitan mandiri diatasi melalui penyusunan standar operasional prosedur bergambar dan penyediaan bibit cadangan. Penerapan sistem percontohan ini berhasil membangun pemahaman teknis operasional awal warga, meskipun evaluasi produktivitas panen dan ketahanan pangan riil masih memerlukan pemantauan siklus budidaya lanjutan secara berkala.

Abstract

Household food security in peri-urban communities encounters significant constraints due to the shrinkage of productive land and limited efficient water management. This community service initiative aimed to implement an integrated aquaponics system based on local potential in Guwo Hamlet, Sumput Village, Driyorejo District, Gresik Regency.
