Alberti, la poesía de la gramática
Applying Jakobson’s concepts of “poetry of grammar” and “grammar of poetry,” a sonnet by Rafal Alberti published in his book Roma peligro para caminantes is analyzed. The grammar of Spanish offers the poet its expressive possibilities, above all, through contrasts, parallelisms, and repetitions of grammatical persons, of verbal mood, tense, and aspect, through the orderly succession of determined, indeterminate, and bare noun phrases, and through sentence patterns.
