Influência de metais presentes no Material Particulado Atmosférico Sedimentável sob os íons de Ca2+ na hemolinfa e resistência da concha de Crassostrea rhizophorae

The accumulation of atmospheric settleable particulate matter (SPM) poses a risk to the aquatic environment, as it presents a complex concentration of metallic elements. The marine bivalve Crassostrea rhizophorae has a high bioaccumulation capacity. This study quantified and evaluated metal exposure across the following SPM concentrations (control; 0.01; 0.1, and 1 g L⁻¹) and durations (48h and 96h), observing their influence on plasma Ca²⁺ concentrations and shell hardness in C. rhizophorae. Quantification revealed 17 metallic elements in the shell, demonstrating a correlation between plasma Ca²⁺ and shell resistance. SPM influenced the physiological regulation of calcium, altering the shell's structural process.
