Electrochemical treatment of poultry slaughterhouse wastewater using steel and graphite electrodes: investigation of treatment performance improvement and phytotoxicity assessment
COD. However, the single-plant assay revealed a heightened phytotoxic response, indicating that the treated effluent is still unsuitable for immediate agricultural reuse or environmental discharge without further advanced treatment. The process performance was also investigated by applying a higher potential and stepped potential to the electrodes in the existing reactor. In conclusion, applying a stepped potential provided a slight increase in COD removal and a decrease in SEC.
