Tandem CuAAC/C-C Coupling for the Synthesis of Bitriazole-Based Energetic Materials from Calcium Carbide.
A tandem azide-alkyne cycloaddition (CuAAC)/C-C coupling strategy enabled the efficient construction of bitriazole scaffolds from calcium carbide. Subsequent energetic functionalization afforded two new nitrogen-rich energetic derivatives, including a novel trinitromethyl-substituted compound. This work expands the synthetic utility of tandem CuAAC/C-C coupling chemistry and demonstrates the potential of calcium carbide-derived bitriazole scaffolds as versatile building blocks for energetic materials.
