FOI Publicity in Small Municipalities: Evidence From Italy

This empirical study investigates the implementation patterns of freedom of information (FOI) publicity within small municipalities. These municipalities, characterized by limited financial and human resources, are likely to face substantial challenges in executing national policies. Our analysis leverages data collected from an examination of the official websites of a specific sample of Italian municipalities. Utilizing hierarchical cluster and regression analysis techniques, our findings underscore the critical challenges in the FOI publicity implementation among small municipalities
