Integrating the Values of Silih Asah, Silih Asih, and Silih Asuh in Sociology Learning to Enhance the Social Competence of Senior High School Students
Social competence is an important aspect of education because students are expected not only to master knowledge but also to be able to interact, cooperate, empathize, respect differences, and resolve social problems constructively. One effort that can be made to cultivate social competence is to integrate the values of silih asah, silih asih, and silih asuh (Trisilas) into the learning process. This study aims to analyze the integration of the values of silih asah, silih asih, and silih asuh (Trisilas) in sociology learning to develop the social competence of secondary school students. The study used a qualitative approach with a descriptive design. Data were obtained through interviews, observation, and review of learning documents covering the planning, implementation, and evaluation of learning. The results show that Trisilas has been integrated into learning planning through the preparation of teaching modules, the selection of materials, media, and methods, and assessment. In the implementation of learning, the process begins with opening activities, followed by core activities in the form of case-study group discussions, and then closing activities. Silih asah appears through mutual learning and knowledge sharing, silih asih through empathy, tolerance, and care, while silih asuh through mentoring, mutual assistance, and responsibility. Finally, evaluation activities appear in the affective, cognitive, and psychomotor aspects. The study concludes that Trisilas has the potential to serve as a foundation for sociology learning in strengthening students' social competence.
