Cross-Scale Phase, Memory, and Electron–Positron Creation: A Unified Logical Case for Investigating a Participating Space Medium
Electron–positron pairs are produced in natural and engineered settings ranging from nuclearfield gamma-ray conversion and atmospheric cosmic-ray showers to thunderstorm-associatedgamma-ray flashes, compact-object magnetospheres, and accelerator experiments. A separateSP3 cross-scale phase inquiry (Beecham, J.E. https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.23958393) hasidentified proposed recurring patterns of disturbance, coherence, persistence, and delayedresponse in cloud-chamber phenomena, slow-light storage in atomic media, and galactic spiralarm interpretations. This paper combines those two lines of inquiry with established historydependence in collider magnets and evolving astrophysical plasmas. The central proposition isthat their convergence makes a common physical space medium possessing phase organizationand memory a coherent subject for scientific investigation. This is a proposal of explanatoryunification, not proof of a medium: magnetic hysteresis is attributable to superconductingmaterials, atomic light storage to matter coherence, and modeled pulsar pair-cascade feedbackto fields and plasma. Quantum electrodynamics already accounts quantitatively for pair creationwithout requiring a material space substrate. We therefore distinguish empirical findings, crossscale analogies, and the SP3 conjecture; identify the risk of double-counting relatedSP3 cross-scale pair-creation proposal • 4 November 2026observations; and propose controlled tests for a residual history dependence of pair creationbeyond known degrees of freedom
