Tempo, Amor e Justiça: fundamentos agostinianos para uma Filosofia do Direito
This article analyzes the relationship between temporality, ordo amoris, and justice in the thought of Saint Augustine, highlighting its contributions to the Philosophy of Law. The study examines Augustine’s conception of time in the Confessions and the notion of distentio animi as an expression of the dispersion of consciousness among memory, attention, and expectation. It then investigates the ethics of ordo amoris in On Christian Doctrine as a foundation of moral order. Employing bibliographical research and the deductive method, the study concludes that justice arises from the proper ordering of love, guiding both human existence and the construction of legal order.
