The Continuity Trap - Bridging Finite-Field Algebraic Zero-Sets to Continuous Manifolds via Metric-Measure Polynomial Rigidity in Lean 4

Classic finite-field polynomial methods rely on strict algebraic rigidity to enforce zero-set exclusion, a property that dissolves into topology on continuous manifolds. Without a discrete algebraic floor, continuous functions evade standard dimension-counting arguments, blocking Delsarte-style and Croot-Lev-Gijswijt applications in differential geometry. To resolve this limitation, we derive a metric-measure weak-rigidity operator that forces continuous functions to obey rigorous polynomial-like vanishing bounds. Formally verified in Lean 4 and validated via a rigorous Python 3 verification suite, we establish the continuous rigidity bound: $$\Vert{}P\Vert{}_{L^2(M)} \le \mathcal{C}\left(d, \text{vol}(M), \text{geom}(M)\right) \cdot \left( \int_{M} \vert{}P(x)\vert{}^2 d\mu(x) \right)^{1/2}$$

Abstract

Classic finite-field polynomial methods rely on strict algebraic rigidity to enforce zero-set exclusion, a property that dissolves into topology on continuous manifolds. Without a discrete algebraic floor, continuous functions evade standard dimension-counting arguments, blocking Delsarte-style and Croot-Lev-Gijswijt applications in differential geometry. To resolve this limitation, we derive a metric-measure weak-rigidity operator that forces continuous functions to obey rigorous polynomial-like vanishing bounds. Formally verified in Lean 4 and validated via a rigorous Python 3 verification suite, we establish the continuous rigidity bound: $$\Vert{}P\Vert{}_{L^2(M)} \le \mathcal{C}\left(d, \text{vol}(M), \text{geom}(M)\right) \cdot \left( \int_{M} \vert{}P(x)\vert{}^2 d\mu(x) \right)^{1/2}$$
