Research on the free vibration and damping behavior of composite stiffened circular plate structure with embedded viscoelastic layer

To explore the dynamic characteristics of Composite Stiffened Circular Plate Structures with Embedded Viscoelastic Layers (CSCPSEVL), the displacement functions under fixed boundary conditions are formulated using variable separation method based on first-order shear deformation theory. The energy equivalence method and Rayleigh–Ritz method are adopted to solve structural vibration differential equations. Meanwhile, a finite element model of structure is established and an experimental test platform is constructed. The consistency among theoretical solutions, numerical simulation results and modal experimental data verifies the accuracy of proposed theoretical model. Furthermore, the influences of stiffener height-to-width ratio, ratio of damping layer thickness to stiffener height and ratio of stiffener height to upper/lower panel thickness on structural vibration characteristics are systematically investigated. This study provides a theoretical basis for optimal design of composite stiffened circular plate structures with large damping and high stiffness.
