Avaliação in silico da ecotoxicidade do Butil-hidroxitolueno (BHT) em organismos aquáticos
This study evaluated the ecotoxicological potential of butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT) in aquatic organisms using in silico tools present in EPI Suite v4.11 platform to estimate acute and chronic toxicity, bioaccumulation, bioconcentration, mobility, and removal in wastewater treatment plants. The results indicated high lipophilicity, bioaccumulation potential, and low mobility, as well as very high to extremely high toxicity to fish, Daphnia, and algae. The main limitation is the predictive nature of the models, which do not replace experimental assays. It is concluded that BHT presents ecotoxicological potential and warrants further experimental investigation.
