Generative AI in the Mathematics Curriculum
The Ad Hoc Committee on Generative AI was charged in Fall 2025 with assessing the impact of generative AI on the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, with focus restricted to lower-division mathematics service courses and upper-division courses for mathematics majors, and with developing recommendations across curriculum and instruction, policy and academic integrity, faculty development, and departmental operations. This report synthesizes the published literature, peer-institution policies, and internal surveys of TAs, faculty, and undergraduate majors.
