Edukasi Legalitas Usaha Sebagai Tahap Awal Pendampingan Tenant Umkm Di Rw 3 Kelurahan Kotalama
Business legality is an important aspect in supporting the sustainability and development of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). However, some MSME actors still have limited understanding of basic business legality, particularly the Business Identification Number (NIB). This community service activity aimed to provide initial education on business legality and identify NIB ownership among MSME tenants in RW 3, Kotalama Village, Malang City. The activity was conducted on August 30, 2026, in conjunction with an MSME bazaar held as part of an Independence Day celebration. A participatory educational approach was applied through direct information delivery and individual consultation using simple and communicative language. The materials covered NIB, PIRT/SPP-IRT, and halal certification. Evaluation was conducted descriptively by identifying the participants’ NIB status and observing their responses and information needs during the activity. The activity involved 25 MSME tenants, consisting of participants who already had NIB and those who had not yet obtained it, indicating the need for further education and administrative assistance. Participants also raised practical questions regarding business legality requirements and procedures. The activity demonstrates that communicative initial education can serve as an important stage for identifying MSME needs and preparing participants for more technical and continuous business legality assistance.
