A Study of the Learning Styles and Academic Achievement of Students with Disabilities

Education is the foundation of an individual's development, and the primary objective of inclusive education is to provide education to every student according to their individual needs. The academic success of students with disabilities depends on several factors, one of which is their way of learning, commonly known as their learning style. Learning style refers to how students acquire knowledge, analyze information, and apply what they have learned in practical situations. The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between learning styles and academic achievement among students with disabilities. A descriptive survey method was employed for this study. A total of 100 students with disabilities were selected, and a specially designed questionnaire was used to assess their learning styles. Their academic achievement was evaluated based on their annual examination results. The findings revealed a strong relationship between learning styles and academic achievement among students with disabilities. Students with more effective learning styles demonstrated better examination performance. These findings suggest that developing teaching strategies tailored to students' learning styles can significantly contribute to improving the academic achievement of students with disabilities.
