DEVELOPING PRODUCTIVE SKILLS IN GERMAN AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE (DaF) INSTRUCTION
Developing productive skills-specifically speaking and writing-is an essential component of instruction in German as a Foreign Language (GFL). These skills enable learners to use linguistic resources appropriately for a given situation, express their own thoughts, and participate successfully in communicative activities. This article examines the theoretical foundations and methodological approaches for fostering productive skills in GFL instruction. It focuses on communicative and action-oriented approaches, the significance of authentic materials, the use of cooperative learning methods, and the role of feedback and error correction. Furthermore, the article presents practical classroom activities designed to systematically develop oral and written expression. Finally, it offers didactic recommendations for structuring a learner-centered and communicative foreign language classroom.
