Penguatan Budaya Literasi Siswa melalui Program Pohon Literasi Benua Etam di SMP Negeri 31 Samarinda
Cultivating a literate generation in secondary school environments faces significant challenges due to students' low reading interest. As an innovative solution, this community service activity implemented the Pohon Literasi Benua Etam Program to strengthen the literacy culture at SMP Negeri 31 Samarinda, serving as a tangible contribution toward achieving Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education. Utilizing a descriptive-participatory or quantitative-descriptive approach, this program actively engaged students and school stakeholders from the planning phase through to implementation. The initiative integrated interactive visual media incorporating East Kalimantan's local wisdom, which was officially operated in the school's reading corner on August 27, 2026. Program evaluation was conducted with 90 respondents across three grade levels through observation, interviews, documentation, and a post-implementation questionnaire. The results recorded a positive response index of 85.28%, with 94.56% of students fully supporting the continuation of this program. These findings confirm that the Pohon Literasi Benua Etam Program is effective in capturing students' interest while serving as an initial foundation for sustainably transforming the school's literacy culture.
