Cyber Bulletin October Edition 2026

Dear All, Welcome to the Cyber Bulletin – October 2026. This edition focuses on festive cyber fraud, fake shopping platforms, admission and examination scams, ticket fraud, and digital payment threats. Several incidents involved victims being deceived through fake Instagram advertisements, fraudulent admission promises, forged certificates, and manipulated online examinations. Cybercriminals also exploited festive shopping through fake discount offers, QR code scams, fraudulent event tickets, and phishing links circulated via WhatsApp and social media. Major fraud networks involving fake shopping websites, mule bank accounts, and suspicious financial transactions were also uncovered. These incidents highlight how cybercriminals exploit festive excitement, urgency, and public trust to conduct financial fraud and steal sensitive information. Stay alert, verify online sellers and ticket platforms, avoid suspicious links and QR codes, and never share your UPI PIN or banking credentials. Report cybercrime immediately through 1930 or the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal.
