Empreendedorismo por Necessidade e Precarização do Trabalho: Entre a Promessa de Autonomia e as Condições Concretas de Trabalho

This study analyzes the extent to which necessity entrepreneurship may constitute a form of work precarization. It is a qualitative, bibliographic, and documentary study based on specialized literature, legal norms, data from the 2025 Continuous National Household Sample Survey (PNAD Contínua), and a decision of the Regional Labor Court of the 2nd Region, being limited to the analysis of these sources. The results show that self-employment does not, by itself, characterize precarization. Precarization may occur when the need to earn an income is combined with limited employment alternatives, instability, limited protection, and the assumption of the risks associated with the activity considering actual working conditions and the real possibility of exercising autonomy.
