Mobilizing Artificial Intelligence for English Language Learning Among EFL Learners

Abstract The present-day language learning strategy, known as Artificial Intelligence, Assisted Language Learning, is the use of AI-driven tools to facilitate the learning processes of learners. Many educational researchers have been exploring AI tools with education-related activities. The main aims of this research are English as a foreign language learners' view about AI-assisted English language learning and teaching and English as a foreign language learners' difficulty about AI-assisted English language learning and teaching. The current study quantitative methods were used and survey tool to collect different data from 71 first year students. In order to collect data, a 5-point Likert Scale survey was used. Most of the students viewed the usage of AI-powered tools positively Mostly in learning English, as per the research. The main issue is the low quality of AI-powered language-learning apps available on smartphones. Then again, it is expected that the language learning AI-powered apps may be one of the teaching media that could be considered to help learners in learning English as a foreign Language successfully. This study calls for a deeper exploration of how experienced language teachers implement the use of AI-powered applications in their instructional practices to develop best ways of using artificial intelligence in English as a foreign language setting both for teaching and learning.
