Dimorfismo sexual nas proporções corporais de juvenis de cação-frango, Rhizoprionodon lalandii (Chondrichthyes: Carcharhinidae)

The present study evaluated sexual dimorphism in juvenile Rhizoprionodon lalandii captured along the São Paulo coast, between São Sebastião and Iguape. Thirty morphometric measurements were evaluated in conjunction with multivariate analyses. Differences between sexes were identified mainly in the pelvic region, particularly in pelvic fin height (ANPv) and pelvic fin width (LNPv), both of which remained significant after Holm correction. The results indicate that sexual dimorphism is already present in juvenile individuals and is predominantly regionalized in the pelvic region, an area associated with the development of male copulatory organs
