SOCIETY HABITS IN THE 7 KAIH MOVEMENT TO IMPROVE THE SOCIO-EMOTIONAL ABILITIES OF CHILDREN AGED 5-6 YEARS

This study aims to describe the implementation of social engagement habits as part of the Great Indonesian Children's 7 Habits Movement in enhancing the social-emotional skills of children aged 5–6 in South Jakarta. The study employs a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving school principals, teachers, parents, and children in "Group B" (kindergarten level). Data analysis utilized the Miles and Huberman model, comprising data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that the practice of social engagement habits was implemented in a planned and integrated manner within daily school activities. Teachers acted as role models, facilitators, and guides in instilling social values. The implementation of these habits contributed positively to the children's social-emotional development, specifically regarding skills such as cooperation, sharing, empathy, emotional regulation, and adherence to rules. The program's success was supported by collaboration between the school and parents, although challenges remained regarding individual differences in children's characteristics and the consistency of these habits within the family environment.
