Aberración cromática en el plumaje del Perico carisucio Eupsittula pertinax (Psittaciformes: Psittacidae), en el departamento de Sucre, Colombia
Chromatic aberrations in birds have been widely documented, in Colombia, previous cases in the family Psittacidae have been recorded in the species Brotogeris jugularis, observed in an urban population. This report corresponds to an individual of Brown-throated Parakeet (Eupsittula pertinax) with general light blue coloration in its body. The observation was conducted in the department of Sucre, in the vicinity of the nature reserve of the civil society Roca Madre, during the development of research on the ecology of Psittacidae. The individual was feeding on green fruits of a shrub of the species Jatropha gossypiifolia, together with several individuals of the same species. This constitutes the first documented record in Colombia of this aberration for the species E. pertinax.
