Produção de peças gráficas para comunicação institucional na Polícia Militar do Paraná: proposta de manual técnico com uso da plataforma Canva
Institutional communication is a relevant instrument for disseminating the actions and public-interest information produced by public security agencies. Within the Military Police of Paraná, graphic pieces are often produced by police officers with no specific training in design, which may compromise the clarity, legibility and visual standardization of publications. In this context, this paper aims to develop and present a technical manual for producing graphic pieces for institutional communication, based on the free version of the Canva platform, which is the product of this research and is included as an appendix. This is an applied study with a qualitative and descriptive approach, presented as a report of technical production. The manual was organized into 31 sequential steps, illustrated with screenshots, covering access to the platform through an institutional account, configuration of the artwork format, insertion and treatment of photographs, application of the institutional symbol, typographic organization, establishment of visual hierarchy, use of colors and gradients, review of the composition and export of the final file. As a result, a didactic material was obtained, presented in full in Appendix A, that guided the production of a commemorative piece celebrating the 172nd anniversary of the corporation and its replication in a second composition with chromatic and photographic variation. It is concluded that the manual may contribute to the autonomy of the professionals involved, to the standardization of procedures and to the visual quality of institutional communication, provided that the official visual identity guidelines of the institution are observed.
