Systems Pathology: A Unified Framework for Cryptographic Data Integrity and Non-Hermitian Early-Warning Detection
Traditional risk management is inherently backward-looking, relying on static compliance and historical data. It fails because complex systems do not collapse randomly; they degrade through measurable structural phase transitions. This document introduces a unified, mathematically rigorous architecture for predicting systemic collapse, establishing the new discipline of Systems Pathology. Authored by the Proclus Dynamics Consortium (PDC), this Master Architecture Specification integrates three distinct, interoperable layers to create an audit-proof, predictive engine: 1. The Diagnostic Method (PHCA & Inverted Pyramid) Before applying mathematics, the architecture must be mapped. The Proclus Hierarchical Constraint Architecture (PHCA) audits systems across five forensic layers: Existence, Provenance, Continuity, Interface, and Latent Constraints. This forms the basis of the Inverted Pyramid methodology, which suspends institutional trust and treats the architecture itself as the primary object of investigation.2. The Data Integrity Layer (EpCross Engine) A mathematical prediction is only as reliable as the data it ingests. The EpCross engine secures telemetry using hardware-anchored truth. It utilizes SHA-256 hash-chaining and CRC32 validation to create an immutable ledger, ensuring that all data feeding into the detection engine is cryptographically sealed and immune to retrospective alteration or poisoning.3. The Detection Engine (Non-Hermitian Dynamics) The core of the architecture is a non-Hermitian early-warning algorithm that detects the approach to a Bogdanov-Takens (BT) bifurcation—a critical threshold where a system loses stability with maximal non-normality. By tracking sliding windows of the Jacobian matrix, the algorithm identifies Exceptional Points (EPs) through three simultaneous conditions: · Eigenvalue Gap Shrinkage (tracking the separation of eigenvalues toward zero).· Non-normality Growth (tracking Henrici's departure from normality).· Instability Confirmation (tracking the real part of the leading eigenvalue). Validated Rigor & FalsificationThrough out-of-sample Monte Carlo simulations (Gate 1 validation, N=200), this architecture successfully detects the BT approach 31.5% of the time while suppressing false positives to ≤2.5%. Crucially, the algorithm eliminates false alarms from systems with falling frequencies, dropping the false-positive rate from 20.5% to 1.5%. The framework includes explicit falsification conditions, ensuring that the mathematics dictates the diagnosis, not the inverse. Deployment & Vertical ApplicationsThis architecture is designed for deployment across high-stakes domains: · MedSecure (HealthTech): Applying the EpCross integrity layer to patient records for zero-plaintext HIPAA compliance, while monitoring hospital supply chain stability.· Project Prometheus (High-Energy Physics): Utilizing the non-Hermitian lattice model to monitor spectral gaps in localized energy loops, acting as a hard fail-safe to maintain coherence in coherent fusion testbeds before thermodynamic constraints breach. This document serves as the foundational blueprint for the Unbroken Phase—a deployable, mathematically validated engine for predicting complex system collapse.
