Digital Transformation, Organisational Agility and Sustainable Performance of Manufacturing SMEs in North Central Nigeria

Digital transformation is increasingly important to the ability of manufacturing small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to respond to changing business conditions and sustain organisational performance. However, the relationship between digital transformation and sustainable performance may depend on the organisational capabilities through which digital resources are utilised. This study examined the relationship between digital transformation and sustainable performance among manufacturing SMEs in North Central Nigeria, with organisational agility examined as a mediating mechanism. The study was anchored on Dynamic Capabilities Theory and Absorptive Capacity Theory. A quantitative, cross-sectional survey design was adopted. From a target population of 161,313 manufacturing SMEs, a sample of 757 firms was determined, and 547 valid responses were used for analysis.
