Radiation‐Induced Complete Pharyngolaryngeal Stenosis in a Patient With Kindler Syndrome

A patient with Kindler syndrome developed complete supraglottic and hypopharyngeal stenosis following surgery and adjuvant radiation for oral cavity squamous cell carcinoma. Balloon dilation with intralesional steroid injection restored phonation, with maintained supraglottic patency at 12 weeks. This case highlights the potential for severe post-treatment mucosal stenosis in patients with Kindler syndrome and the importance of close surveillance.

Abstract

A patient with Kindler syndrome developed complete supraglottic and hypopharyngeal stenosis following surgery and adjuvant radiation for oral cavity squamous cell carcinoma. Balloon dilation with intralesional steroid injection restored phonation, with maintained supraglottic patency at 12 weeks. This case highlights the potential for severe post-treatment mucosal stenosis in patients with Kindler syndrome and the importance of close surveillance.
