BIOGROW-REJO (BIO ORGANIC GROWTH REJOMULYO): INOVASI PUPUK ORGANIK CAIR BERBASIS LIMBAH ORGANIK RUMAH TANGGA SEBAGAI SOLUSI PENGELOLAAN SAMPAH DAN PEMBERDAYAAN MASYARAKAT KELURAHAN REJOMULYO

Household organic waste management remains a persistent environmental issue in Rejomulyo Village, South Metro District, Metro City. Limited community capacity in sorting and processing domestic organic residues results in biodegradable resources accumulating in residential environments. The BIOGROW-REJO (Bio Organic Growth Rejomulyo) initiative was executed as a community empowerment intervention to enhance domestic knowledge and practical capabilities in converting household kitchen waste into liquid organic fertilizer (LOF). The community project was conducted on 27 July 2026 through an active participatory framework engaging municipal officials, neighborhood leaders, farmer groups, youth organizations, and family welfare empowerment women. The intervention stages encompassed initial baseline observation, stakeholder coordination, educational socialization, method demonstration, guided group practice in three designated units, and comprehensive evaluation utilizing pre-test, post-test, and a five-indicator skill observation rubric administered to 14 focal participants. Cognitive evaluation results revealed an increase in the mean knowledge score from 85.00% in the pre-test to 93.57% in the post-test, representing an improvement of 8.57 percentage points. Observable behavioral outputs demonstrated that all participant clusters successfully generated 15 liters of active fermentation mash, with 100% of participants accurately sorting organic ingredients and concocting bio-activator mixtures. This community initiative confirms that direct hands-on training effectively elevates local technical capacity in home-scale organic recycling. However, sustainable residential waste reduction at scale requires continued institutional mentoring, laboratory nutrient verification, and disciplined domestic segregation protocols.
