RISK STRATIFICATION FOR PREDICTING POSTOPERATIVE COMPLICATIONS IN COMPLICATED HEPATIC ECHINOCOCCOSIS
Complicated hepatic echinococcosis remains a challenging problem in hepatobiliary surgery. Suppuration of the cyst, cystobiliary fistulas, rupture into the abdominal cavity and obstructive jaundice may substantially increase the risk of an adverse postoperative course. A differentiated assessment of risk factors is therefore essential for selecting the timing and extent of surgery and for planning perioperative management.
