SOLMAZ AMANOVA'S CONTRIBUTION TO AZERBAIJANI CHILDREN'S LITERATURE: CUL TURAL HERITAGE, FOLKLORE, AND EDUCATIONAL VALUES

This article examines the literary and educational activities of Solmaz Amanova, an Azerbaijani children’s writer whose work engages with folklore, historical memory, national cultural heritage, and children’s literary education. The study considers the thematic significance of selected works, including “Heritage”, “The Apothecary of Khanegah”, “The Treasure of Ganja”, “A Person Leaves a Trace”, and “The Magic Keys of Shusha”. It also explores the relationship between Amanova’s literary production and educational initiatives, including children’s library events and the digital presentation of literary works. The research employs descriptive, biographical, and thematic-analytical approaches, drawing on library catalogues, cultural publications, and institutional reports. The available sources indicate that Amanova’s work connects children’s literature with Azerbaijani folklore, historical figures, cultural landmarks, and educational objectives. Particular attention is given to the possibilities and limitations of using literary texts to transmit cultural memory and encourage reading among young audiences. The article concludes that Amanova’s work merits further systematic literary investigation, especially through close textual analysis of narrative structure, language, characterisation, and the adaptation of historical and folkloric material for children.
