Untargeted metabolomics
Untargeted metabolomics analysis was performed on fecal samples collected from mice colonized with Streptococcus anginosus to systematically characterize alterations in intestinal metabolic profiles induced by bacterial colonization. Fecal metabolites were extracted and subjected to liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS) detection for untargeted profiling. Further pathway enrichment analysis uncovered significantly perturbed metabolic pathways related to carbohydrate, lipid and amino acid metabolism. This untargeted metabolomics approach comprehensively revealed the reshaping of gut metabolic homeostasis triggered by Streptococcus anginosus colonization in the murine intestinal tract.
