Coptodisca lucifluella (Clemens, 1860) (Lepidoptera: Heliozelidae) – a species new to the Polish fauna

Coptodisca lucifluella (Clemens, 1860) (Lepidoptera: Heliozelidae) – a species new to the Polish fauna.Coptodisca lucifluella (Clemens, 1860) is reported from Poland for the first time, based on leaf mines foundat Łęknica (Lubusz Voivodeship) and Zgorzelec (Lower Silesian Voivodeship) in September and October2026. A further occurrence was recorded at Mysłowice-Ćmok, Silesian Voivodeship, on 13 October 2026,where mines were found on Juglans regia. This inland record extends the known Polish occurrence beyondthe immediate German-Polish border area. Native to North America, C. lucifluella has spread throughseveral European countries; further surveys are needed to determine its distribution in Poland.
