From Predictive Analytics to Supervised Agentic Decision Intelligence: Transforming Retail, CPG and Supply Chain Operations Through AI

This research paper examines the evolution of enterprise analytics from traditional Business Intelligence and predictive modelling toward supervised agentic decision intelligence. The study focuses on Retail, Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG), Marketing Measurement and Supply Chain Management, exploring how Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML) and specialized AI agents can improve enterprise decision-making. The paper presents Naukr.ai as an industry case study of a vertical AI platform focused on Retail and CPG analytics. It examines the company's four primary Agent Hubs: Supply Chain Agent Hub – Demand forecasting, inventory optimization, replenishment intelligence and store signals. Media Agent Hub – Agentic Marketing Mix Modeling (MMM), media measurement and marketing budget optimization. Reporting Agent Hub – Conversational analytics, automated reporting and business intelligence. Category Management Agent Hub – Pricing, promotions, assortment, shelf and consumer intelligence. A key focus is the supervised agentic modelling approach, which combines AI-assisted analytical workflows with statistical modelling, model diagnostics and human validation. The paper proposes a conceptual framework connecting enterprise data integration, predictive intelligence, specialized AI agents, human oversight and operational decision-making. It also discusses the opportunities and challenges associated with enterprise AI adoption, including data quality, model explainability, statistical reliability, governance and organizational readiness. This publication is a conceptual research paper and industry case analysis based on academic literature and publicly available company information. Company-reported outcomes are identified as such and have not been independently verified. Keywords: Agentic AI, Decision Intelligence, Retail Analytics, CPG, Supply Chain Intelligence, Marketing Mix Modeling, Demand Forecasting, Inventory Optimization, Human-in-the-Loop AI.
