Deepening the Santos Port channel to 16 and 17 meters tends to increase dredging and maintenance requirements, with potential effects on the estuarine-coastal system. This study analyzes the environmental implications of this process through documentary research based on scientific articles and official documents. The results highlight the need to integrate sediment dynamics, environmental changes, and port management into the planning of future channel deepening.
