Impacto de la implementación de estrategias de calidad y seguridad hospitalaria en la satisfacción del paciente

The implementation of hospital quality and safety strategies is essential for improving health outcomes and ensuring excellence in medical care. Evidence indicates that positive patient experience leads to greater patient engagement in their care, increased institutional revenue, and an improved reputation for healthcare providers. The objective of this study was to analyze the available evidence on the relationship between hospital quality and safety strategies and inpatient satisfaction through a descriptive systematic review of studies published between 2015 and 2025. A descriptive systematic review was conducted following the PICO model. Studies in Spanish published between 2015 and 2025 related to hospital quality, safety culture, and patient experience were included. The search was conducted in Google Scholar, SciELO, PubMed, Elsevier, and Dialnet in accordance with the PRISMA 2020 guidelines, resulting in the selection of 19 articles that met the inclusion criteria. Key findings included that hospital quality and safety strategies improve patient safety and satisfaction. Among the main strategies identified are staff training, process standardization, and patient and family involvement. However, to overcome barriers such as resistance to change and resource constraints, the implementation of complementary strategies is required. It was concluded that the implementation of hospital quality and safety strategies improves patient safety and satisfaction, optimizing care through staff training, adequate staffing, and process standardization. Effective leadership and the involvement of patients and families strengthen the culture of quality. Despite these advances, barriers remain that require policies and ongoing education to ensure sustainable improvements.
