Enhanced Technology-based Instructional Material in Application of Chemical Substances in Household and Personal Care Products

This study evaluated the enhanced technology-based instructional material on chemical substances in household and personal care products among 45 Grade 11 students at Don Vicente Rama Memorial National High School. Using a quantitative pre-test-post-test research design, it assessed learners’ performance in three competencies and evaluated the material in terms of effectiveness, usability, and engagement. Results showed outstanding post-test performance across all three competencies, with the greatest improvement in constructing tables of product labels showing chemical substances. Learners also rated the material positively, with engagement receiving the highest evaluation. These findings indicate that the instructional material is a useful supplementary learning resource that promotes interactive, engaging, and meaningful learning while enhancing learners’ understanding of chemical substances, their properties, benefits, and safe usage and disposal in household and personal care products.
