Acoso laboral (mobbing) como sistema negativo en las empresas
According to various national and international instruments ratified by the Mexican government, it is recognized that workplace harassment constitutes a problem that systematically violates dignity, free development, and integrity. Those affected are individuals who belong to the workforce as employees. This undermines the ability to perform work activities in a healthy, fair, safe, and violence-free environment. It is important to emphasize that workers must be regarded as holders of fundamental rights; therefore, companies have an obligation to take action to prevent workplace harassment. Taking into account the regulations governing this issue is considered part of responsible management, which will undoubtedly contribute to establishing an organizational system grounded in social responsibility. The aim is to prevent the deterioration of the workplace environment by safeguarding workers’ physical, psychological, and emotional well-being. For this reason, it has been deemed important to conduct a study on this phenomenon from both a legal and social perspective. The study examines its background, conceptualizations, and classifications, as well as the physical and emotional effects suffered by victims due to the abuse of power, workplace inequality, and silence. In addition, companies face legal risks due to legal disputes that arise, compounded by absenteeism as another consequence of workplace harassment. This leads to a decline in productivity; therefore, it is important to understand the issue so that we can prevent its normalization, detect it, and, above all, eradicate it.
