Microplate Tectonics Towards Full Tectonic Evolution of Earth‐Like Planets

On the basis of boundaries between microblocks/microplates of different ages and their drifting histories and evolutionary differences constrained using palaeomagnetic data, Prof. Sanzhong's research group has subdivided the global lithosphere into more than 1000 microplates that can be reconstructed through time using GPlates software.

Abstract

On the basis of boundaries between microblocks/microplates of different ages and their drifting histories and evolutionary differences constrained using palaeomagnetic data, Prof. Sanzhong's research group has subdivided the global lithosphere into more than 1000 microplates that can be reconstructed through time using GPlates software.
