DESIGN OF A MOBILE APPLICATION FOR REAL-TIME MONITORING OF CONSTRUCTION PROJECT PROGRESS, MATERIALS, AND MANPOWER
This development-oriented capstone examined construction monitoringpractices and the requirements for a mobile application integrating project progress, materials, and manpower records. The manuscript reports a purposive sample of 20participants comprising five civil engineers, five site supervisors, five projectmanagers, and five construction workers associated with the study setting in BacolodCity. Existing-practice responses in the original summary indicate agreement thatspreadsheets are used for project progress tracking (75%) and that material recordsare maintained manually (85%). Respondents also identified delayed reporting (90%)and limited access to current project information (95%) as concerns. Desired-featureresponses indicate strong preference for timely data updates (100% agreement) andintegrated monitoring (95% agreement); these figures describe respondentpreferences rather than verified software performance. The manuscript additionally reports post-test mean ratings for ease ofnavigation (4.3/5), perceived accuracy of updates (4.5/5), and satisfaction (4.4/5), withan average recorded task time of 8.2 minutes. Because individual responses, testconditions, completion logs, and reference-value comparisons have not yet beenreconciled with the summaries, these outcomes are provisional. This revisedmanuscript specifies an application evaluation question, objective task metrics, construction progress measurement procedures, and required system, validation, andprivacy documentation. It concludes that the reported needs support development ofan integrated monitoring prototype, while claims concerning measured performanceand project-level effectiveness require documented verification.
