Concept and simulation study of an address fiber Bragg structure in the parallel configuration as a sensor of the structural health monitoring system
Abstract This work proposes a concept of the address fiber Bragg structure in parallel configuration that consists either of two narrowband or two phase-shifted fiber Bragg gratings. This structure allows the length of the sensor to be reduced by more than half compared to analogs in a serial configuration, thereby enabling the precise point measurement of external influences. The framework of two structural health monitoring schemes based on microwave photonic interrogation principle are described and detailed simulation analysis is carried out, incorporating strain impact. The proposed address fiber Bragg structure is appears to be compact and easy to implement.
