Load Amplifiers Testing Moderators of Population Allostatic Dynamics
Similar levels of compression sometimes produce very different outcomes. The PALI framework offers two explanations. The first, developed in ATI-PALI-03, is that populations differ in their capacity to recover. The second, developed here, is that some conditions act as amplifiers: they change how strongly compression is taken up as burden, or how long burden is retained, without being sources of compression themselves. In statistical terms, amplifiers are moderators. This paper defines amplification formally within the shared accumulation rule, fixes a list of four candidate amplifiers in advance, and specifies the tests each must pass to be admitted to the model. Candidates that fail are discarded and reported. One candidate, geomagnetic activity, is treated as explicitly exploratory and is kept isolated so that its result, either way, does not affect the standing of the core framework.
