Takhrij Al-Hadits: Tujuan, Metode, Sumber, Dan Pencatatan Hasil
Many hadiths appear in books, lectures, and social media without any mention of their source books or quality grades, which makes it necessary to trace their origins through takhrij al-hadith. This article discusses the meaning, purposes, benefits, methods, and practical steps of takhrij. It adopts a qualitative, library-based approach, reviewing written sources without statistical analysis. The findings indicate that takhrij is an effort to locate a hadith in its original books, examine its sanad and matan, and evaluate its quality according to hadith scholarship. The process aims to identify the original source, the chain of transmission and its narrators, the grade of the hadith, and other transmission routes. Researchers may search by the opening words of the text, keywords, the first narrator or companion, theme, hadith status, or digital tools. In practice, they gather all narration routes, draw a sanad diagram, critique the sanad and matan, and then determine whether the hadith is sahih, hasan, da’if, or maudhu’. Thus, takhrij is an important scholarly stage that lets hadith be used on a clear and accountable basis, although digital search results must still be verified against the original books.
