Suphisellus canthydroides Guignot, 1940, junior synonym of S. bruchi (Zimmermann, 1919) (Coleoptera: Noteridae)
Suphisellus canthydroides Guignot, 1940 is proposed as a junior subjective synonym of S. bruchi (Zimmermann, 1919), syn. nov., based on comparison of the type material of both taxa, including external morphology and male genitalia. A lectotype is designated for S. bruchi, and the species is recorded from Paraguay for the first time. Photographs of diagnostic morphological characters are provided, including selected structures examined using scanning electron microscopy.
