The Quantum Drainage Model: Information Dissipation at the Planck Scale and the Resolution of the IR/UV Mixing
We introduce the Quantum Drainage Model, a novel theoretical framework that reformulates the quantum vacuum and field dynamics through the concept of thermodynamic information dissipation at the microscale. We postulate that wavefunction stabilization and spacetime behavior under subatomic scales are governed by the Oliveira-Pinheiro Drainage Factor (Ω), which introduces an entropic sink based on Landauer’s minimum dissipation limit coupled to Heisenberg’s lateral fluctuations. In this first paper of the series, we detail the classical-to-quantum transition of the target-shooter coupling index, the microscopic derivation of the thermal drain through open quantum systems density matrix formalisms (Lindblad master equation), and the reformulation of the Feynman path integral. We prove that the introduction of the Oliveira-Pinheiro entropic functional yields a Gaussianly truncated propagator that naturally eliminates ultraviolet divergences and completely cures the chronic IR/UV mixing catastrophe in non-local field theories without ad hoc counterterms. This establishes a mathematically rigorous foundation for subsequent gauge field mass gap resolutions and cosmological anomalies.
