Lens and Camera Pose Calibration from Existing Stage Features for Followspot and Performer Tracking

A setup wizard performs lens and camera pose calibration from existing stage features for followspot and performer tracking in four steps: video source, lens, camera pose and review. The camera's image positions are mapped into stage coordinates and sent to moving lights, lighting consoles or media servers, for example over PosiStageNet. The lens step measures lens distortion from straight edges in one snapshot: the station can suggest edges, the operator confirms them or traces any straight edge, the points snap onto the edge, and a plumb-line fit of a two-term division model about a given lens centre returns the lens with a quality rating. A lens can also be loaded from the station or a settings file, or converted from an OpenCV calibration file. The camera pose is solved in one least-squares adjustment from marks pinned on the snapshot: the corners of a measured rectangle, or known points together with points triangulated from laser-measured distances. The review step checks the result for plausibility, warns about likely mistakes and suggests the floor height from the points. The lens is applied to the drawn overlay and to input points, never to the video.
